Source of Resource

This industry and the journey of an actor is impossible to do unaccompanied. Know your resources and use those assets.

The saying, "It's not what you know it's...Who you know" is a truth in any business, especially this one. Of course, it's essential that one be prepared when the opportunity presents itself, but building relationships is pertinent.

Moreover, know your digital resources. Here are a some links to several great resources:

Whatever It Takes

We recently returned from a conference in Arizona that was informative and inspiring. While there, we did whatever was necessary to make sure we could tape and send our auditions.
On top of that, after getting off the plane we went straight to a callback.
We'll frequently encounter obstacles that try to derail us. If acting is your passion, do whatever it takes to get the job done to the best of your abilities.

Hit the Road, Jack!

It's President's Day and on this three day weekend many people are traveling. We hope you have safe travels and have enjoyed your time off.

Speaking of travel, in this digital world, the industry has greatly changed. We no longer have to travel long distances to attend auditions. We can audition for roles in different cities and even states by self-taping. Callbacks for Film and TV have become very limited; however, they aren't non-existent.

When auditioning for a role, be sure to check the breakdown for callback dates, shoot dates, shoot location, and if it's a commercial, conflicts. Many times actors over look these details and it discredits both you and your agency if you are not available or have conflicts.

Also, be sure to have some extra funds available so that you can travel to a 2nd and 3rd callback if necessary.

Best of luck and safe travels!!

Love the Craft

We hope everyone had a love-filled Valentine's Day!

If acting is something you love, then you have to surrender yourself to it. Audition as much as possible. Research acting related websites. Commit to sharpening your craft and learning every chance you get. Remember, there's no formula to this business so take in all the information you can and create your own "smart" path.

Ask yourself, "What have I done to better my craft today?"

Love what you do and get someone to pay you for it.

Get in the Game

STEP UP to the challenge and STOP making excuses. The southeast is a competitive market and one has to get in the game. We face all kinds of obstacles and filters in this industry so why create more for yourself.

"I'm going to wait till I lose a few pounds to get my headshots."
"I can't submit to an agency yet because I don't have enough on my reel."
"They probably already have someone like me that's better."

These are just a few of the endless excuses we tell ourselves. Stop wasting time and take the risk. That's what this industry is...rejection. Sometimes, there is a YES but one has to be in the game, not making excuses, and PREPARED.

The Bungalow Productions will help guide you through this rejection prone industry and prepare you to find the "Yes!" STEP UP to the challenge and STOP making excuses.

Variety of headshots

With actors now having to live in this digital world its so important to have up to date headshots. Not only this, it's also important to haveas many "looks" as possible. Meaning if you can play the lawyer, or the teacher, "bad guy" etc, you need shots that portray those characters.
